At the ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum that took place in the Kempinski Hotel in Accra between the 22nd and 24th of October 2019, NEK has signed with ECREEE a future-oriented Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding our Wind Energy pipeline in Ghana.
On September 24, 2019, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for grid access of the 200MW Konikablo Wind Farm has been signed between Upwind Konikablo Ltd. and the Ghanaian grid operator GRIDCo. This agreement is the basis to connect the Konikablo Wind Farm under development in the Greater Accra Region to the nearby 330kV grid.
After a long period of planning, we have submitted on behalf of Upwind Madavunu Ltd., the extensive building permit application for another wind energy project in Ghana to the local authorities: the 200 MW Madavunu Wind Farm.
On 7th of June 2019, a 3-unit classroom block of the Hearts of the Father Outreach was commissioned by the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Ningo-Prampram District Assembly, Hon. Jonathan Teye Doku. The construction of the building was initiated by the DCE in the year 2018 and sponsored by ENERCON GmbH and NEK Umwelttechnik AG.
On 7th of May 2019, a workshop under the leadership of Upwind Konikablo Ltd. between ENERCON, NEK and GRIDCo took place in Accra. Technical aspects of how to integrate the planned 200 MW Konikablo Wind Farm into the existing grid of GRIDCo were discussed, among others.
