Application for construction permit handed in for wind park Budakovë (Kosovo)

With the application process for our first wind energy project in Kosovo at the location Zatric being well on the way and making good progress, we have handed in to ERO (Energy Regulatory Office) the application for the construction permit for our second wind park in Kosovo on February 13, 2013. This is the wind park Budakovë, which is located in the municipalities of Suhareka and Shterpce.

For this project 16 wind turbines of the 2.0 - 3.0 MW class are planned and we have therefore applied for a total installed capacity of 30 - 45 MW. This important step allows us to carry out the further tasks that are necessary for the final permitting of the project as quickly as possible. We reckon that the project will be completely permitted in the winter half year 2013/2014.

We have now already been measuring for quite some time at this location on an existing GSM-Tower with heated instruments, since the site reaches altitudes up to 1,650 m.s.l. The measurements so far show that a mean wind speed of approx. 6.5 - 6.8 m/sec can be expected at hub height. This coming spring we will be installing 1 - 2 met masts of 60 m height in order to validate the results from the measurements taken so far.
