20 MW solar plant in Ghana receives the provisional supply licence

At the end of July, the Energy Commission in Accra issued the Provisional Generation and Wholesale Supply Licence for our 20 MW solar plant at Ayitepa.

Together with our 225 MW wind farm at Ayitepa this project is the first hybrid renewable energy plant in Africa.

The solar plant is scheduled to be connected to the grid roughly at the same time as the wind farm at Ayitepa. This will be by the end of 2016. The produced electricity will be fed into the 330 kV grid through our new substation at Dawa / Sege. The new WAPP (West African Power Pool) overhead line near our project sites is already completed and will be energized soon.
