Wind measurements in Ghana extended

Wind measurements in Ghana extended

On behalf of the Energy Commission in Ghana we have been measuring wind conditions at different locations along the coast of Ghana with 60 m met masts since November 2011.  While some of the measurement locations are showing good wind conditions, the results from 3 of the locations originally specified by the client are not suitable for the future planning of a wind park. Therefore, it was decided to move the corresponding met masts to new locations.

Our team of specialists has been carrying through the relocation of the met masts since the beginning of November, so that now the wind conditions will be measured at the three new locations for the next 12 months.

Based on the available measurement data of the last 12 months from the originally specified locations, which will be complemented with the data from the Lidar measurements conducted at the same time, we will now prepare a wind model, which will be placed at the disposal of our client at a later stage.
