Wind measurement installations in Ghana have been completed at 3 further locations

The installation works for wind measurements at three very remote locations at Lake Volta in Tatobator, Kudorkope and Aglakopey are completed: Over the last weeks our engineers have installed there three 34 m high NRG met masts. This should clarify if the wind conditions are sufficient to in future supply the local villages and settlements, which are so far without electricity network, with electricity from wind power.
Because of the low accessibility of the locations the installation work was quite demanding. The transport of the equipment had to be carried out partly by boat and the transmission of the measurement data via GSM to our offices is somewhat sensitive due to the bad network coverage.
This measurement campaign is being carried out on behalf of the Government of Ghana, which in turn is supported by the World Bank.
