Comprehensive Lidar measurement campaign taken-up for wind park Ayitepa, Ghana

By the end of 2014, we erected two 100 m tall wind measuring towers at our project site in Ayitepa. In addition to that, our engineers installed recently within the project’s perimeter a Lidar measuring unit.

During the coming months, we will collect with the Lidar additional information of the wind conditions up to 200 m above ground level. Together with the long-year wind data which we gather on a nearby 60 m tower for more than 3 years now and the data we collect on four different height levels on the installed 100 m towers, the Lidar data will form the basis for a comprehensive wind assessment for this 225 MW wind farm. This report is also required to reach financial close for the project.
